Hi, mein Name ist Juergen alias Dr. Guitar.
Den Alias „Dr. Guitar“ habe ich den Menschen in meinem beruflichen Umfeld zu verdanken. Dieser entstand schon vor vielen Jahren durch Kollegen und Kunden. Wie jetzt unschwer zu erraten ist, arbeite ich in der Musikalien Branche, genauer gesagt in der Servicewerkstatt eines traditionellen Musikhauses. Aber auch Installationen, Planung und Zusammenstellung von Beschallungsanlagen sowie die Planung und Installation von Bühnenlicht, sind fester Bestandteil meiner beruflichen Tätigkeit.
Vielen Dank an meine damaligen Kollegen und an unsere lieben Kunden! Den Alias „Dr. Guitar“ verwende ich schon seit sehr langer Zeit auch privat, als „Künstlername“.
Im privaten gehe ich sehr vielen Hobbys nach. Alle diese Aktivitäten und Interessen hier haarklein aufzulisten würde den Rahmen dieser Infoseite sprengen. Meine Schwerpunkte liegen in der audiovisuellen Mediengestaltung, der Live Musik, der Fotografie, der Videografie, der Verarbeitung, Digitalisierung und Restaurierung analoger Medien aller Art, der Illustration und Gestaltung von Retro Pin Up Plakaten und der Bildbearbeitung , der Reparatur und Restauration alter Geräte – vom Plattenspieler bis zum Retro Computer – und natürlich der Pflege und Erhaltung alter Fahrzeuge.
Als Musiker bin ich zur Zeit in zwei Bands, als Gitarrist, Sänger und Bühnentechniker aktiv. (Nicht Verwunderlich!) „HEAVY TRAFFIC“ - Status Quo Coverband. Fünf Musiker wie im Original. Ich übernehme dort die Aufgabe von Francis Rossi. In dem Oldie Duo „CANDY CANE“ spiele ich zusammen mit einer Frau (Keyboard, Gesang), vergessene Hits aus der goldenen Zeit. Unser sehr gut ausgestatteter Proberaum, befindet sich in einem Industrieareal in meiner Stadt.
Zuhause verfüge ich über ein privates kleines Fotostudio, ein Produktionsstudio zur Audiovisuellen Medienbearbeitung mit AV Schnittplatz, einen separaten Computertisch für die digitale Bildbearbeitung, einen Raum mit Elektronikwerkstatt, Bastelwerkstatt und Platz für die Rahmung und Gestaltung von Bildern und Plakaten, ein Lager für all die Teile, Geräte und Werkstoffe und natürlich Regale und Schränke für Bücher, Zeitschriften und Software, für die Medien und Filme, für die Kassetten und Disketten, die Bänder und Datenträger und für all meine uralten und alten und neuen Geräte und Maschinen.
Ich bin ein glühender Verehrer der Lebensart der 40er, 50er und 60er Jahre des letzten Jahrhunderts. Die Musik, das Design, die Kleidung, die Kunst und die Architektur, die unglaublich schönen Autos, die perfekt gestalteten formvollendeten Geräte und Bauwerke, die unbeschreiblich schönen Möbel und Wohngegenstände wie Lampen oder Vasen, die Musikautomaten, aber auch die Filme und die revolutionäre Literatur......................All das und noch so vieles mehr, haut mich einfach um!
All mein Schaffen und Wirken dreht sich fast immer irgendwie direkt oder auf eine bestimmte Art um diese Zeit. Wen wundert es? Ob fotografisch oder musikalisch, ob Design oder Restauration, es ist immer was dabei – aus der goldenen Zeit.
Natürlich arbeite ich auch mit hochmodernen, aktuellen Geräten. Aber irgendwie geht es fast immer um Retro & Co. Selbst wenn ich zum Beispiel einen brandneuen Flyer entwerfe – Der könnte dann vielleicht für mein Oldie Duo sein – sind immer Elemente von damals gefragt.
Nichts hat mehr Bestand als die Vergangenheit.

my name is Juergen alias Dr. Guitar
The
alias "Dr. Guitar " I owe to the people in my professional
environment. This was created many years ago by colleagues and
customers. As you can easily guess, I work in the music business,
more specifically in the service workshop of a traditional music
store. But also installations, planning and compilation of public
address systems as well as the planning and installation of stage
lights are an integral part of my professional activity.
Many
thanks to my former colleagues and our dear customers! The alias "Dr.
Guitar "I have been using for a very long time privately, as a
"artist name ".
In
my private life I follow a lot of hobbies. Listing all these
activities and interests here is beyond the scope of this information
page My focus is on audiovisual media design, live music,
photography, videography, processing, digitization and restoration of
analogue media of all kinds, the illustration and design of retro pin
up posters and the image processing, repair and restoration of old
devices - from Turntables to the retro computer - and of course the
care and preservation of old vehicles.
As a musician I am currently active in two bands, as a guitarist, singer and stage technician. (Not surprising!) "HEAVY TRAFFIC" - Status Quo Coverband. Five musicians as in the original. I take on the task of Francis Rossi. In the oldie duo "CANDY CANE" I play together with a woman (keyboard, vocals), forgotten hits from the golden age. Our very well equipped rehearsal room is located in an industrial area in my city.
At home I have a private small photo studio, a production studio for audiovisual media editing with AV editing suite, a separate computer desk for digital image editing, a room with electronics workshop, craft workshop and space for framing and designing pictures and posters, a warehouse for all the parts , devices and materials and of course shelves and cabinets for books, magazines and software, for the media and films, for the cassettes and disks, the tapes and data carriers and for all my ancient and old and new equipment and machines.
I
am a fervent worshiper of the lifestyle of the 40s, 50s and 60s of
the last century. The music, the design, the clothes, the art and the
architecture, the incredibly beautiful cars, the perfectly designed,
perfectly shaped appliances and structures, the indescribably
beautiful furniture and living objects such as lamps or vases, the
jukeboxes, but also the films and the revolutionary
literature.......................All that and so much more just blows
me over!
All
of my work and activity almost always somehow directly or in a
certain way revolves around this time. No wonder? Whether
photographic or musical, whether design or restoration, there is
always something there - from the golden age.
Of
course, I also work with state-of-the-art, up-to-date equipment. But
somehow it's almost always about retro & co. Even if, for
example, I design a brand new flyer - which could perhaps be for my
oldie duo - there are always elements of that time in demand.
Nothing has more continuance than the past.
